Chinese sharpshooter Du Li has won the first gold in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.

The 22-year-old native of east China's Shandong Province took the title in the women's 10m Air Rifle on Saturday.

Du Li, the world record holder, shot to victory with 502. She also broke the Olympic Record.

Lioubov Galkina of Russia won silver while Katerina Kurkova of the Czech Republic took bronze.

Her teammate Zhao Yinghui finished in the fourth place.
