19-year-old Liu Chunhong of China broke her own 69 kilograms weightlifting world record in the snatch, raising 122.5 kilograms or 270 pounds at the Olympics on Thursday .
Ester Krutzler of Hungary missed two attempts to match the record.
The previous Olympic record of 112.5 kilograms or 248 pounds was set by Erzsebet Markus of Hungary in 2000, the first year women's weightlifting was part of the games.
