Chinese gymnast Teng Haibin beat Romanian pommel horse specialist Marian Urzica to have won the event, giving China the first gold medal from gymnastics at the Athens Olympic Games.
19-year-old Teng Haibin fielded to the mat at the last of the eight competitors and brought down the house with a beautiful routine.
Teng scored 9.837 points, while 29-year-old Urzica finished second with 9.825 points. 24-year-old Kashima got the bronze here with 9.787 points.
