China has grabbed gold and bronze medals in women's doubles table tennis after two Sino-South Korean finals, and thus once again put herself back in first place at the top of the medals' table. China's Wang Nan and Zhang Yining overcame the South Korean pairing Lee Eun Sil and Seok Eun Mi in four straight sets to take a comfortable gold victory. But earlier, the fight for bronze had gone all the way in a seven set thriller. China's Guo Yue and Niu Jianfeng took the initiative at 9-all in the final set to finally vanquish their South Korean opponents 4-3. In the men's doubles, Chinese players Ma Lin and Chen Qi beat the Danish team of Michael Maze and Finn Tugwell 4-2 to go through to the final.
In the other semi-final, KO Lai Chak and LI Ching, the penholder grip Doubles specialists from Hong Kong, also went through to the final by defeating Russians Andrei Smirnov and Dimitrij Mazunov 4-2.
Consequently, the men's double final will be played between two Chinese pairs on Saturday.
